What Happened to CSCOPE?

So if you have been watching the news, CSCOPE has been a very interesting topic not only in the state of Texas, but also across the country.

Most recently, Sen. Dan Patrick and SBOE member Thomas Ratliff had a wonderful debate over CSCOPE, local control of education, and other topics. The Texas Observer has an great article about this event. Be sure to click the link to read about it.

Also (very recently), the developers of CSCOPE released a letter to the public about some changes it will be making to its service. Starting August 30, CSCOPE will be referred to as the TEKS Resource System.

TEKS Resource System is just that, a resource. It will still have all of the components and options you have used in the past and any material that you have developed within the old site will automatically be transferred to the new site. You will also be able to continue using your current username and password. However, there will be no sample lessons provided within the system. Any instructional content within the site will need to be uploaded by the user and the user will be responsible for its content.

Beginning September 1, going to www.mycscope.us will redirect you to the new site: www.TEKSResourceSystem.net. Additionally, if parents or community members have questions about what system you are using, there will also be a public site to replace www.cscope.us. More information on the public site will be forthcoming.

If you missed the debate from the Live Stream this past weekend, I have included the YouTube video of the debate. Our wonderful Curriculum Director, Julia Robinson (aka @CurriculumDiva on Twitter) was present in the audience during this event, be sure to ask her about the experience. She has some good stories!
