Teacher & Support Staff of the Year

It's that time to cast your vote for Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year! The criteria for Teacher of the Year are as follows:
  • Have at least TWO years of experience with the District.
  • Be a dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled teacher.
  • Have a concern for students and the capability to inspire students of all backgrounds.
  • Have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Play an active and useful role in the community as well as in the school and,
  • Be poised, articulate and possess the energy to withstand a taxing schedule.
  • Once a teacher is voted as campus teacher of the year, the candidate is ineligible for nomination for THREE years.

Also, the individual for Campus Support Staff of the Year should:
  1. Must have completed TWO years at Royse City ISD.
  2. Have good rapport with staff and students.
  3. Have good attendance and dependability
  4. Take Pride in their job and good attitude
  5. Be Neat in their appearance
  6. Go above and beyond their duties
  7. Follow campus/district policies

Family Learning Event
Our 3rd & 4th Grade teachers will be hosted at Family Learning Event next week. Students will be engaged in games and activities based on their grade level's Readiness TEKS. This event will help reinforce the skills students need before their state assessment in a few weeks. Doors will open at 6:00pm.

Kindergarten Roundup
Our district will be hosting the Kindergarten Roundup for students entering Head Start, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten next school year. This will be on Thursday, April 10th @ 5:30pm-7:00pm. Be sure to let parents know the date and times for this event.

Misc Reminders
  • Curriculum Website - Be sure to check out the resources there!
  • Google+ Community - This is our Scott Staff community board. Be sure to post great things happening in your grade levels and share resources.
  • Bad Weather Makeup Days - April 18th & June 6th - Communicate with parents
  • Unit Assessment Revision - Julia will be encouraging teachers to help revising the unit assessment this summer. The dates are June 9-13 (ELAR, Science, SS) and July 14 or July 28-29 (Math - New TEKS). Stay tune for more information.
  • Summer School - Angela Morals will be the principal for Summer School again... see the draft calendar here ... Summer School Dates
