Next year, our campus will be involved in a program called Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). This program is a three year process that focuses on promoting positive behavior with our students and helping them be successful.
The program focuses on common areas during the first year... hallways, cafeteria, gym, restrooms, playground, etc. The second year is focused on classroom behavior while the third year is focused on specific students.

Herndon Intermediate and Ruth Cherry Intermediate are two campuses in the district that use this program. Herndon uses to phrase Herndon "Heroes" and Ruth Cherry is Bulldog "Pride". Each word is an acronym that stands for a character trait or quality ... (H.E.R.O.E.S. = Honest, Encouraging, Respectful, Optimistic, Excellent, Success). This theme becomes a part of the culture and identity of the campus.
