Important Reminders

Energy Management
Just a reminder that refrigerators & microwaves will no longer be allowed in the individual classrooms. The only exception will be if there is a specific medical need and we will approve any issues of that nature through our office.

Additionally, floor lamps, desk lamps, Scentsy's, plug-ins, fans, space heaters, etc. will no longer be allowed in classrooms. Classroom doors are to be kept closed at all time & exterior doors must NOT be propped open at any time.

Use the Scott Elementary Energy Management Form  request the use of an appliance in your classroom OR report any temperature concerns in your classroom. Even if I have previously approved your request to use an appliance, I would like a record of your request on this form.

NEW Updates

AR Update - This first six weeks we're going to be focused on getting the system up and running for teachers/students to set point goals, take tests, and monitor their progress (See Mrs. Jones previous email). During the second six weeks, I will begin monitoring students and their point goals. We're monitoring students to help them read on grade level and their points goals will need to set to support student learning.

We'll continue with the 17, 33, 50, 66, 83, 100 percentage goals for each week & the blog will be used to help to know where students should be. Here are several ways you can monitor AR in your classrooms thanks to Nikki Chick, Christiana Finch, Connie Jones & Jamie Garcia:

Copier Update - All of your teachers should be able to access the office copier. They can now release their print jobs in the office in addition to scanning, faxing, and copying in black/white.

RtI Testing - Our interventionists are getting preparing to start testing with the TEMI next week for Grades K-2. Afterwards, iStation testing will start after Labor Day. A specific schedule will be coming to your email very soon.

3-Ringed Binders (Curriculum Binder) - I would like each classroom teacher & interventionist to have an inch or inch and a half binder for curriculum materials that will be shared during PLCs and curriculum meetings. Please go ahead and remove the out-dated information in lieu of the new stuff your getting from the iACT Curriculum department or I'm sharing from STAAR4ward.

Kristen Weichel Visiting - She will be visiting our campus next week. Please bring TEKS Reading snapshot (Lead 4Ward) for your grade and the Unit 1 IFD.

Staff Meeting - We'll having our first staff meeting on Monday, September 14th @ 3:30pm in the library.

T-TESS Update
You should now be able to go online into the Eduphoria system to complete the T-TESS Teacher Self-Assessment and Goal Setting paperwork. Below are some documents that should be helpful for you including the campus appraiser plan. This includes your appraiser's name & the approximate month your observation will scheduled for the school year:

Remember you must setup a conference with your appraiser and this must be completed by Monday, September 21st. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions about this process.
