    Grades
Students are due Tuesday @ 8:00am. If you have a SpEd student, be sure to contact Mrs. Worley or Mrs. Alexander about that child's progress in your classroom. Also, I will be visiting with teachers about students with failing grades to determine what level of support is needed for the child to be successful (RtI, Tutoring, Parent Support, etc).

    iStation
Reminder... be sure to monitor your iStation reports. The students are taking their ISIP assessment for October and I would like to see progress for every student. Please contact Mrs. McElroy if you have any questions.

    Accelerated Reader (AR)
On of the strategies we're doing for our Target Improvement Plan is based on AR and supporting students with reading. Our goal is to move students forward with reading and helping them read on grade level. AR is one program we can use to help us monitor students in this way.

Students should be at 17% of their goal by this Friday. If you notice someone who really needs help, please let me know. We will continue to monitor and encourage students to make weekly targets and a comprehension score of at least 80%. Nita Green will have some books available to ensure all for our 3rd and 4th grade students to ensure they have a book on their reading level each day.

Students should be asked to take home a book every night and read for 20 minutes. Be sure to communicate with parents about their child's AR point goal and their progress toward reaching that goal.

PTO Fundraiser begins next week Monday - please include this information in your class newsletter and update your Social Media accounts.

Book Fair will be opening on October 19-23 with a Family Night on October 20 beginning @ 6:00pm.

Flu Shots are Coming - On October 20 @ 2:30pm bring your insurance card to get your flu immunization. Click on this link for additional information: https://goo.gl/SO8Zlh

Storybook Character Day is coming on October 30! Dr. Bright will be sending out details for that event but start thinking about what Storybook Character you would like to be this year :)

Parent/Teacher Conferences & After-School Tutoring will begin very soon. More information will be shared with your Team Leaders this week about this process.

    Challenging our students (#kidsdeserveit | #YouMatter | #TeamKid)
I shared this video with teachers during our digital PLC meeting this last week. It's a great video that captures why we must challenge our kids the way we do. Be sure to watch it if you didn't last week... or watch it again because it's just that good.

Also I just got word that my good buddies Adam Welcome & Todd Nesloney are writing a book together with Dave Burgess.... OMGosh! I can't wait to read it!
