NEW Information
I'm happy to report that we have completed our 2nd Quarterly Report with Judy Caskey. She was very thrilled about the 3rd/4th Parent Meetings focused on student growth & goals/Bedtime Stories focused on literacy & the 360 minutes program, the upcoming Winter Writing Showcase & Dr. Suess Math/Reading Night. We shared progress our campus is making in writing in implementing the district writing program and writing samples. She has a copy of some of the data analysis protocol sheets that you all are using during PLCs.
I cannot thank you all enough for the work you're doing with the students and working with us throughout this improvement process. You're doing some amazing work and you should feel proud of not only the kids BUT yourselves too. During her visit with us last Friday, Judy Caskey picked up the phone to speak with Kenny Kaye Hudson to brag on the work/effort/data collection/student growth/campus engagement with this process. She wanted Mr. Worthy to know how impress she was with this campus. KEEP IT UP TEACHERS & STAFF! The work you do each day with our kids is important.

Tim is Closing His Place (#TeamKid | #KidsDeserveIt | #YouMatter)
Do you recall from the beginning of the school year, we talked about this gentleman that LOVES his job and does a "Dance of Magic" each day before walking into work? Here's the link of the video in case you need to remember:
Well, Tim is closing up shop! As much as he loves his place - the reason WHY he's made this decision will melt your heart. Take a look at his interview here:
I love this because Tim's story defies a traditional one of a person living with down syndrome. He's a great encouragement and example for all our students. He's experiencing a rich life despite his perceived shortcomings.
As teachers, you have the power to make a difference in your kids' life that will allow them to experience a rich life too. Everyday you have the power to make a kid feel that they can learn, they can read, do math, and express themselves in writing. You help support them as they reach their goals, and most importantly let them know they are loved!
If you do anything this week, be sure your kids KNOW that you love them.
