    ForeThought Lesson Plans

    NEW Information

    Calendar Feedback
Kaicy Thomas will be representing our campus of the NEW district calendar for the 2017-2018 school year. If you have any suggestions you would like the committee to consider, please let her know.

    A-F Accountability System
TEA will be updating the current accountability system with a letter grade system. This new system will look at five (5) areas including our local community based accountability system. Student performance, progress & populations will continue to be important moving forward. There will be a Community Forum on Wednesday, December 7 @ 6:00pm at the Administration Building for people to learn more details. The link below is the current information we have about this new system & more information will be shared as it becomes available:

    MAP Testing Window
The middle of the school year MAP testing window will be January 5th - 27th. A schedule will be sent out after Christmas Break with your homerooms times/dates for each test. Here's a couple of tips to help ensure a successful testing session this round:
    • Look at the students that took a long time last administration - be sure to monitor them closely for this round of testing
    • The first 7-8 questions will determine what grade level the student will be assessed on - please monitor what the students are doing
    • The teacher can pause the entire class to allow for breaks as needed
    • Encourage the students to write their RIT Goal on a post-it note when they go in to take their test - have them write their scores down at the end
    Lesson Fixer-Upper Conference
Julia Robinson is planning to a different way to deliver professional development for teachers. She will be offering for you all to either participate in-person at the high school OR digitally from your classroom. More details about this process will be coming very soon - but all teachers will have to participate in some part in a Twitter chat. So save the date for Tuesday, January 3rd for the Lesson Fixer-Upper Conference.

ESL Certification is due this coming July 2017 - please ensure you have taken your test & contacted TEA to get the certification on your teaching license. If you have any questions about this process, please come visit me.

    Scott Elementary Facility Update
Playground Renovations Project - The district is planning to update our playground equipment by replacing the mulch with a sponge-like material, moving both swing sets to a more central location, and covering the playground with a large shade. The project is expected to begin in December and be completed in about 3 weeks from the start. Also the project will include additional concrete so students will be able to walk to the playground without stepping into mud on damp/wet days & some additional seating with trash cans.

Please be prepared to make different plans for recess or outdoor activities during this update.

Also, the district will be replacing our current exterior door mats with news ones.
