Reminders

March Primary Election
We're working to help you exercise your right to vote - especially in this next election. We'll be sharing some resources and information with you to help you make informed decisions for this next election year so you will know where candidates stand on educational issues. Below is a link for some important dates to keep in mind.

New Information

Welcome Back to School
It's the first day back with your students after their longest break of the school year. Monday will be the perfect time to review important expectations, routines, and procedures for the kids. It's the perfect time to review your classroom Social Contract, Hallway behavior, Cafeteria expectations, Quiet Signals, Recess procedures, and more.

It helps to set the tone for the next several weeks before Christmas and will help ensure everything goes smoothly.

HUMANeX Climate Surveys
On Monday, Nov 27th, the district will be releasing the HUMANeX Climate Survey. The purpose of the survey to get feedback from all staff members and to develop some action steps staff members can work throughout the school year. In previous years, we have received some high marks about our campus climate because of the work you all do to help support and encourage each other.

We're looking for 100% participation for our campus. The survey will be emailed with details that relate to the survey as well as live links. After the data is collect, we will have a feedback session on Tuesday, January 9th.

Student Learning Objective (SLO) for TTESS Staff Members
Just a reminder that this is the week to complete the 1st Checkpoint in the Student Growth Tracker. Be sure that you evaluate each student in the class that you chose. You will want to look at work samples, tests, (whatever is appropriate) and go the the Student Growth Tracker and complete the 1st Checkpoint.

The point of this checkpoint is for you to reflect and decide if the instructional strategies you're using in the classroom are giving the desired result. It is very likely that every student will not grow from the initial rating. Remember that the purpose of the SLO process is for  you, the TEACHER, to reflect on your professional practice (instructional strategies). The most important thing to take away is if students are not growing, we want to encourage you to change the strategies to achieve the desired results of your SLO. Please do not stress if every student hasn’t growth - that is sort of the point - to take a look at the instructional strategies that you're using to see what needs to be modified.

We can talk more about this process in your PLCs this week. Just know that Brittany and I are here to help you with your SLO goals. You cannot mess up this process - Please just let us know if you have any questions.

MAPs Testing/RtI
Just a reminder... if new students arrive, you will want to give them the "screening" version of the test until the Winter window opens on January 10th. Please reminder to give the same accommodations that you gave to your students in the Fall.

Please be sure you're documenting your Tier 3 students. Students that failed STAAR last year or below the 21ile MUST be served in RtI.

Chickfila Spirit Night
Come and support our campus on Tuesday Night @ Chickfila this week. Be sure to encourage the students and their families to visit too.

PTO Holiday Shop
Our PTO is hosting the Holiday shop again for us this school year. This will start next week (Dec 4-8) where students can purchase items for family members for Christmas. Encourage the students to be mindful of their money this week and to keep purchased items in specific spot in your classroom like their backpacks.

Santa Pictures
Next Friday, Dec 8, Santa will be here to take pictures with the students. Also it's a great opportunity for team group pictures too!

Staff Meeting
Our next Staff Meeting will be on Monday, December 11 @ 3:30pm. Please make arrangements to be here and on time.
